Kolaveri’s unfinished cut was stolen from my laptop: Dhanush reveals at IIMA

Actor Dhanush,who bagged nationwide limelight after his Kolaveri Di song became an Internet rage,today revealed that the unfinished cut of the song was stolen from his laptop days after it was recorded.

Actor Dhanush,who bagged nationwide limelight after his Kolaveri Di song became an Internet rage,today revealed that the unfinished cut of the song was stolen from his laptop days after it was recorded.

“This got the both of them (Dhanush and his cousin Anirudh Ravichander,music director of the song) in a panic mode and that is when they decided to go viral with Kolaveri Di on Internet,” said Bharati Agrawal,a second-year PGP student at IIMA,where Dhanush who took a management class.

“While the actual sales of the song was a meagre 1,200,they revealed how they had hit a bounty when it came to the number of downloads the popular ditty got through Internet,” she said,adding,“Both were unanimous in declaring that the success of the song was quite surprising for them. Anirudh said the ‘soup song’ was recorded impromtu in 40 minutes flat.”

After the session,the students described Dhanush as a “soft spoken and down to earth” person. Both Dhanush and Anirudh were invited to give a talk as part of the ‘contemporary film industry’ elective at IIMA.

The one-and-half-a-hour session that students had been awaiting with bated breath turned out to be a surprising revelation after all!

“Dhanush was soft spoken and joked about him being nervous to take a class at IIM Ahmedabad. Anirudh mentioned that his dad still wanted him to try to get through IIM Ahmedabad even as he was pursuing his commerce degree,” said a student.

Students revealed that both Dhanush and Anirudh agreed that the management gyaan that they partook from the whole experience would have helped them to handle the royalty issues of the lyrics and the song in a better way.

The class included 130 students of Post Graduate Programme in management and Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives,who had opted for the film elective.
