Communal polarisation part of conspiracy to divide people, says JIH’s Gujarat president Shakeel Rajput

Shakeek Rajput said some groups were using hate-campaign against religious minorities and Dalits as a tool to gain political power.

State president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Shakeel Rajput said in Ahemadabad, on Thursday, that “the present tense communal polarisation in the country was not spontaneous, but part of a conspiracy to divide people for political gains”.

Addressing a gathering of social activists, students, men and women after a “peace and harmony” rally from Town Hall to Sardarbaug, organised by JIH, Rajput said some groups were using hate-campaign against religious minorities and Dalits as a tool to gain political power.

Stating that peace and harmony was a must for growth and development of the country, Rajput said that there was an urgent need for people of all religious denominations to come together and fight this menace that posed a very serious threat to the country.
