Metals rise on strong industrial demand,global cues

Select base metal prices improved by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metals market.

Select base metal prices improved by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metals market today on increased buying by stockists to meet increased demand from consuming industries amid firming overseas trend. Marketmen said rise in base metal prices was mostly attributed to rising industrial demand and a firm trend in the global markets.

Aluminium ingots and aluminium wire scrap moved up by Rs 2 each to Rs 127 and Rs 134 per kg.

Aluminium utensils scrap and sheet cutting also quoted higher by Re 1 each to Rs 127 and Rs 128 per kg. Gun metal scrap and bell metal scrap were also enquired

higher by Re 1 each to Rs 227 and Rs 229 per kg.

The following are metal rates per kg:

Zinc ingot 109-113, nickel plate (4×4) 1,035-1,038,gun metal scrap 227,bell metal scrap 229,copper mixed scrap 395,chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 135,lead imported 133,aluminium ingots 127,sheet cutting 128,aluminium wire scrap 134 and aluminium utensils scrap 127.
