Red chilli and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists as well as exporters.
Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 6,300-11,600 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100 each to finish at Rs 14,700- 4,800 and Rs 17,600-18,100 per quintal,respectively.
Traders said buying support from stockists and exporters against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today’s quotations: Ajwain 10,000-15,000,black pepper (per kg) 440-540,betelnut (kg) 160-195,cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 800-900,and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 980-1,200. Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 700- 800,cardamom (colour robin) 650-750,cardamom bold 700-750,cardamom extra (bold) 950-980 and cloves (kg) 600-690.
