On his first visit to the national capital after taking over as Reserve Bank Governor, Urjit Patel today called on NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya. “NITI Aayog Vice Chairman, Dr. @APanagariya, welcoming the new RBI Governor, Mr. Urjit Patel,” the Aayog said in a tweet.
The two economists are believed to have discussed the prevailing economic situation.
RBI is scheduled to release its next bi-monthly monetary policy review on October 4.
Patel assumed charge of RBI Governor effective September 4, 2016, after serving as deputy governor since January 2013.
