Honda launches Activa 3G, refreshes four more models

Honda has retained the same old 110cc engine of the erstwhile Activa on this new model without any changes.

Living up to its promise of launching 15 new products this year, Honda has commenced the execution of its launch plans of its 2015 by launching the first five products of the planned lineup. The company has launched the third generation model of its hugely popular 110cc scooter, Activa. Apart from it, the company has also refreshed four other products of its existing lineup with mild cosmetic upgrades.

Christened as the Activa 3G, the new scooter now boasts of slight revisions to the bodywork, new headlamp and tail lamp cluster and a new 3-D logo on the side panels. However, Honda has retained the same old 110cc engine of the erstwhile Activa on this new model without any changes. The new Activa 3G is now officially on sale at a price of Rs. 48,852 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter will be available in five colors, namely Trance blue metallic, Lusty red metallic, Geny grey metallic, Black and Pearl amazing alongside the launch of the Activa 3G, Honda also unveiled refreshed versions of CB Shine, Dream Yuga, Dream Neo and Dio. All these four products will come with new paint schemes and graphics on the body panels. Talking about the specific changes, the CB Shine now gets a new tinted front visor and new tail light, whereas the Dream Neo receives a lockable side panel in response to the customer feedback. All these four models will be on sale within the period of next two months.

Commenting on HMSI’s road map for 2015, Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “With India contribution reaching 25% of global Honda motorcycle sales this year; India is and will remain Honda’s priority market globally. However, I consider 50 lac units to be the turning point of Honda in India. In FY’2015-16, Honda is taking the next leap of business expansion. We will be bigger with new manufacturing capabilities and aggressively growing network in the hinterlands, better at customer satisfaction and bolder with our introduction of ever highest 15 new models in just one year.”
