Toyota Kirloskar Motor has opened an online portal for customers to buy Toyota genuine spare parts and accessories in the country. With this, the Japanese auto giant has become the first OE manufacturer to set up an online store in the country. The store will, at first, cater only to Toyota consumers residing in Bangalore, and will then be expanded to other parts of the country by early 2016.
The new online store will offer its customers with a wide range of Toyota genuine parts and accessories. The customers can have the spare parts delivered to their home/office from the nearest Toyota authorised service outlet. Not just this, the car manufacturer will also provide its customers with basic part fitment instruction manual for key parts. According to the carmaker, the service will increase customer satisfaction by increasing convenience and saving time.
Initially, Toyota will sell around 400 genuine spare parts and accessories such as brake pads, clutch plates, wiper blades, oil filters and air filters. There will also be around 30 Toyota genuine accessories at the online store. The customers can buy spare parts and accessories for the current and old/discontinued Toyota models including the Etios range, Qualis, Innova, Corolla Altis, Camry, Fortune, Prius, Land Cruiser Prado and Land Cruiser V8 in the country.
Speaking at the launch of the online parts distribution channel in India, Shekar Viswanathan,vice chairman and director, Toyota India, told PTI, “We have a total of one million customers in India and our primary aim is to make them satisfied and loyal. Our new initiative of making spare parts available online is aimed at making it easier for them.”
“We are offering another platform, specially to those tech savvy ones, who would like to fix small parts through a local workshop and not come all the way to an authorized service station but with genuine Toyota spare parts,” he further added.
