Toyota is the latest company to offer a large-screen touch-enabled multimedia system on one of their products. This is the latest fad to hit the mass-market segment in India. “We are delighted to launch the all new Etios Xclusive. It is our endeavor to continuously upgrade our offering in line with the changing lifestyle preferences of our customers. We are also confident; the all new Etios Xclusive will further delight our customers with its enhanced technology and premiumness,” said N Raja, Director & Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing), Toyota Kirloskar Motor.Nr

In terms of exterior design, the Etios Xclusive edition receives a unique paint scheme – Blue Metallic. Meanwhile, the edition is also available in Symphony Silver and Pearl White paint options. Other additions include a new indicator-integrated ORVM cover with a curvy-chrome garnish, door-visors and ‘Xclusive’ badges on the rear-quarter panel.
Inside, the changes include new dual-tone (beige and coffee) fabric seat covers and faux-wood trim on the dashboard and door-panels. The highlight is of course the Smart Link Infotainment System.
This multimedia system is based around a large touch-screen system; apart from the standard touch gestures, Toyota claims that the system also recognises hand gestures (without the person touching the screen!). It also recgonises voice commands. It has Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity for music streaming and hands-free call functionality, the in-built maps depend on the users’ smartphone internet connection to function. The system is connected to a 6-speaker system.
Toyota is also highlighted the fact that the Etios was one of the first cars in its segment to offer safety features like dual-airbags across its variant range. Meanwhile the Etios also gets 12-spoke alloy wheels (spare wheel a steel one), reverse parking sensors, multimedia-controls on the steering wheel, flat rear floor, 595-litre boot, and 3 year/1 lakh km warranty.
The Toyota Etios Xclusive powered by the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, 90PS/132Nm petrol motor is priced at Rs. 7.82 Lakh.
The Toyota Etios Xclusive powered by the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder, 68PS/170Nm diesel motor is priced at Rs. 8.93 Lakh.
Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Aforementioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
