Jaipur, Feb 25 (ANI): Addressing a gathering at the inauguration of burns intensive care unit (ICU) at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said the technologically advanced unit will benefit patients. Extending thanks to the Shakti Peeth Sri Shanidham for lending two-crore rupees for the project, the Chief Minister appealed the visitors and patients to maintain cleanliness at the hospital premises. The city's major hospital already had a burn ward that has been modernised with the latest technologies.

World Bank to aid Rajasthan's energy sector

Jaipur, Feb 22 (ANI): The World Bank would be extending its cooperation to the Rajasthan government in the area of energy sector. World Bank Country Director Onno Ruhl spoke to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her cabinet ministers to discuss these issues in detail. Ruhl congratulated Raje on the success of decreasing the rate of defecation in the open. He also stressed on the use of traditional forms of energy while maintaining that the focus was on alternative forms of energy. Chief Secretary C S Rajan, Principal Secretary (Energy) Sanjay Malhotra, State Power Distribution Companies Chairman Bhaskar A Sawant, Organising Secretary Akhil Arora and World Bank Special Project Manager Mandakini Pal were present on the occasion.

Jaipur, Jan 22 (ANI): Asia's largest literary festival kicked off in Jaipur, in a testament to the growing global influence of Indian literature and its appeal to both publishers and authors. Regional language novelists and poets will rub shoulders with Nobel laureates and Booker Prize winners at the annual Jaipur Literary Festival where organisers will showcase works from different states and dialects to thousands of book lovers. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, inaugurated the event which began with the playing of Rajasthani traditional folk music. Hundreds of thousands of writers, critics, publishers and fans are expected to pack Jaipur's streets for the five-day event from January 21. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Raje emphasized on the habit of reading books. Jaipur Lit Fest kicks off with much fervour

The annual event is being held at the Diggi Palace. The event is slated to run from 21-25 January. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will inaugurate the event in a ceremony, which will include a keynote address from award-winning author Margaret Atwood.
